Life’s A Beach!

In keeping with the accidental beach theme of the previous photos, here’s San Clemente.

Mammoth

As you might be able to tell from the previous post, I spent a long weekend in Mammoth Mountain.

The trip consisted mainly of mountain biking, which was a mix of fun and torture (the torture being pedaling uphill in high altitude for extended periods of time). I’ve never gone mountain biking before, but I think I did pretty well as did most of the crew.

There are a bunch of trails you can pick to ride ranging from mellow to hard/annoying. The best run being the one that starts at the very top of the mountain. You basically take the ski lift all the way to the top and ride down. Between the amount of ground you cover and resting, it took us about 2 hours to get down each time. It was good fun.

Mountain bikes are certainly fun and appropriate for gnarly hills, but feel squirelly and loose coming from a BMX standpoint. I wouldn’t wanna tackle a mountain on a BMX bike though.
